1. INTRODUCTION
This privacy notice sets out the basis on which any personal information we, SILICONE & TECHNICAL PRODUCTS (PTY) LTD (hereinafter “Silicone”), collect from you, or that you provide to us, will be used, stored and processed by us (hereinafter referred to as "collect" or “collection”). Read the following carefully to understand our practices regarding your personal information (as defined below) and how we will process it.
In adopting this privacy notice we wish to ensure you that the use of your personal information is lawful, reasonable, and relevant to our business activities, with the ultimate goal of improving the services we offer and to your experience with us. We will take reasonable steps to prevent unauthorised access to, or disclosure of your personal information. However, we cannot guarantee that your personal information shall be secure, despite our best efforts to protect it as required in law.

2. THE INFORMATION WE COLLECT AND RECORD
When we receive an enquiry, request or instruction, we may request, receive, store and record many details of you that are defined as ‘personal information’ in POPIA. We collect and record only the minimum personal information that is required for us to attend to the request, enquiry or order. In doing so, we comply with POPIA in that we implement reasonable practices to ensure the private information is protected.
3. TYPES OF PERSONAL INFORMATION WE COLLECT
The types of personal information that we may collect includes information necessary to provide our services. This may include personal information which contains identifiable information such as (amongst other things) your first and last name, screen name, email address, postal address, telephone number, details about your telephone device (e.g. mobile phone) and your telephone service provider ("personal information"). If you are an entity, this may include your entity registration number, VAT number, business address and contact person’s details.
3.1 How we get the personal information and what we use it for:
Most of the personal information we process is provided to us directly by you for one of the following reasons:

The information will be collected directly from you where you provide us with your personal details. Where possible, we will inform you what information you are required to provide to us and what information is optional.

Information collected will be provided to us by you where we will have access to your name, surname, email address and contact details.

4.2. Inform you of new services;
4.3. Enable us to process, validate and verify information and requests for the supply of services;

4.5. generally to improve your experience on our website.
4.2 We keep your personal information confidential and only use, process, share, record or delete it as is required by POPIA, other legislation and/or the requirements of the service that we are providing for you.
4.3 We will share your personal information:
4.3.1. in order to comply with applicable law or with legal process served on our company;
4.3.2. in order to protect and defend the rights or property of our company; and
4.3.3. with employees and/or third parties who assist us in providing services to you and thus require your personal information in order to render a proper and efficient service. We will ensure that all such employees and third-party service providers, having access to your personal information, are bound by confidentiality agreements.
5. OTHER INTERACTION WITH YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION
5.1 POPIA requires us to ensure that we hold correct and updated personal information and, hence, we may need to update your personal information from time to time, and request your assistance in doing so. The request will be sent via email or otherwise, whatever is most reasonable in the circumstances.
5.2 We will:
5.2.1 not sell or give your personal information away, use it, other than in terms of this policy;
5.2.2retain the personal information only for as long as we are required by law to do so.
6. YOUR RIGHTS
6.1 Request access to your information: You will be able to ask us what information we have about you as well as ask for a copy of this information. This should be done on request to our information officer. There are some exemptions, which means you may not always receive all the information we process. When we can give you a copy it might be done at a certain fee, which will also be communicated to you at the time of your query.
6.2 Change or correct information: You have the right to ask us to rectify information you think is inaccurate. You also have the right to ask us to complete information you think is incomplete.
6.3 Delete information: You can ask us to delete or remove personal information under certain circumstances.
6.4 Object to processing: You can do this where we are relying on your legitimate interest, public interest, or our legitimate interest (or those of a third party) and there is something about your situation which makes you want to object to processing on this ground. You also have the right to object where we are processing your data for direct marketing purposes or where you have given your consent for the specific processing, and you want to retract your consent. Retracting your consent does not invalidate the information we lawfully processed while we had your consent to do so.
6.5 Request the restriction of processing: You can ask us to suspend the processing of personal data about you, for example, if you want us to establish its accuracy or the reason for processing it.
You may further unsubscribe from any of our electronic material by simply clicking on the unsubscribe option provided. In that event we will remove your details from our database, in a secure way.
7. SECURITY BREACH
7.1 We have strict measures in place to make sure that our information systems are not breached.
7.2 However, should this occur, we will ascertain how and where the breach occurred and make sure that the exposed area is addressed immediately.
7.3 We will ascertain which data has become vulnerable as a result and notify you if the breach may affect you and assist you to minimize any potential damages that you may suffer as a result, where possible. Such notification may take place by way of email or post.
7.4 Security Measures
We will:
7.4.1. treat your personal information as strictly confidential.
7.4.2. take appropriate technical and organisational measures to ensure that your personal information is kept secure and is protected against unauthorised or unlawful processing, accidental loss, destruction or damage, alteration, disclosure or access;
7.4.3. promptly notify you if we become aware of any unauthorised use, disclosure or processing of your personal information;
7.4.4. provide you with reasonable evidence of our compliance with our obligations under this policy on reasonable request; and
7.4.5. We will not retain your personal information longer than the period for which it was originally required, unless we are required by law to do so, or you consent to us retaining such information for a longer period.
ALTHOUGH WE TAKE THE AFOREMENTIONED PRECAUTIONS IN PROTECTING YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION, WE SHALL HOWEVER NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY LOSS OR DAMAGE, HOWSOEVER ARISING, SUFFERED AS A RESULT OF THE DISCLOSURE OF SUCH INFORMATION IF BEYOND OUR REASONABLE CONTROL.
8. STORING YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION
8.1 We store your personal information in South Africa.
9. CHANGES TO THIS PRIVACY NOTICE
9.1 From time to time, we may revise this privacy notice to reflect company initiatives, changes in the law or technology or changes in our practices regarding the collection and use of personal information.
9.2 We will not use or disclose personal information provided to us pursuant to this Privacy Notice in ways other than the ones described above, without informing you and providing you with the opportunity to consent to such modified conditions concerning the use and disclosure of your personal information.
